I can almost guarantee you will not find a 16 year old as good as him, and if you do, I urge you email me and I will share it with the community. Marco is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in world football and many top clubs are interested. On Football Manager 2010 it is no different. He plays his trade at Italian side Pescaro Calcio as a centre midfielder, and has been dubbed by various journalists as the next Francesco Totti.

Stats

Verratti’s stats are already better than a lot of experienced players on the game and that says it all. His 11 for passing and creativity is very good for someone of his age, and with the right training these two stats will shoot up very quickly. His set pieces are more than special with 16+ for technique, corners, penalty taking and free kicks, this usually means a lot of assists and will should always get himself on the score sheet a few times a season. His comparison to Totti in real life is partly down to the flair and agility and this has been highlighted in Football Manager 2010. All round great stats for someone as young as he is and they can only get better with the right coaching and training.

Tactics

Marco Verratti is only 16 years old, and if you carry on following my blog you will find out that I do not like playing youngsters too early. I would recommend using Verratti as a sub if you are a big team, and bringing him on when you are in a comfortable position towards the end of the game to give him some experience and keep his match fitness. It is up to you, but I think it can really help. If you have a great centre mid or AMC at your club at a good age, Eg Fabregas at Arsenal, I suggest using the tutoring option in Football Manager 2010. This will reap great benefits for both players but especially Verratti as he will start to resemble his ‘mentor’ and become a great player. Price

Marco Verratti starts the game with a value of around £200k. Pescaro Calcio are very reluctant to sell as he has such great potential, but usually a fee of between £300k and £400k will secure his services. I suggest getting the bid in as soon as possible as lots of other clubs come sniffing early on. I have bought him several times, including Football Manager Live and he always becomes one of my star players.

FM2010 Facepack – 60,000 Images

I was browsing Sortitoutsi.net earliar (a great Football Manager 2010 fansite, especially for downloads) and came across an amazing facepack which features almost 60,000, yes thousand images of players all across the world. This is a massive contribution from the community and I downloaded it as soon as I came across it as facepacks were one thing that my game was lacking.

All the top players are included obviously, as well as most of all the other players, so do you want to put names to faces whilst your browsing the game? For instance, I just found out that Lauri Dalla Valle is white, and I always pictured him to be black, do not ask me why

Once you have downloaded the facepacks, you must extract the files using WinRar to “My Documents/Sports Interactive/FM2010/Graphics/Facepack”. If you have not installed graphics before then you need to create the graphics folder and the facepack folder. Do not hesistate to comment on this post if you need any help installing them.

Football Manager 2010 Patch 10.3 Released

- Fixed older newgens in some cases getting youth contracts instead of regular contracts.

How to Play Football Manager 2010 Online Tutorial

I am sure most of you already know how to play FM Online with your friends, but there are many who do not, So I thought I would write a quick brief tutorial on how to play Football Manager 2010 online. Ok, so to play online with your friends you will need:

A copy of FM(obviously)
An internet connection
Hamachi, which can be downloaded here – https://secure.logmein.com/US/products/hamachi2/download.aspx

NOTE: Both of you will need to have the same patch installed, eg If you want to play on Patch 10.2, then you will both need it.

Step One

Decide which one of you is going to be hosting the game. The person that is hosting needs to start a new game using a patch both of you have, and do the normal FM steps to creating a game depending on what countries you want loaded. The person hosting also needs to go into preferences -> network and tick the box that says ‘Run as Server’

Step Two

Install Hamachi and once you have loaded it up click the power/on button:

Step Three

If you have going to be hosting the online game, then you will need to click the network tab at the top and click ‘Create a New Network’, a box will now appear where you will have to put in a unique ID and password. If you are joining your friend who is hosting the network, you need to click network tab and click ‘Join Existing Network’ and enter the id and password your friend used.

Step Four

Ok so at this stage the host has started a new game in FM and waiting, created a network on hamachi and the other person(s) have joined the hamachi network. The last step is for the person who is joining the network to load up FM, and go to ‘Join Network Game’ on the home FM2010 screen. Next the person should click join other server in the corner, and enter the ip address of the host THAT IS DISPLAYED ON THE HOSTS HAMACHI.

Step Five

Once the person has entered the hamachi IP of the host, they should be entered into the hosts game and ready to create a new manager and pick a team, so my final step is enjoy the network game, have fun and remember to Play, Win and Rub It In (Thought I would add in the Football Manager Live slogan there )

FM2010 Time Machine

Your probably thinking wtf! But let me explain, I have decided to emulate a ‘time-machine’ in Football Manager terms. I have holidayed many seasons in different countries and saved the game after each year. This will allow you, the fans, to download a save from 2010 or any year up to 2025, I will be looking to further the years soon, but I wanted to use 2025 as a solid base to get lots of different countries done. This post will be updated every time a new country on FM2010 gets ‘time machine’d’ and I will link you to the post which will contain the list of saves for that specific country.

I hope you enjoy this feature, because it will allow you to start a new game but in the future, just by downloading a save game. It’s as simple as that….Do you want to play with all regens in the year 2025? Or just get the first season over and done with because its boring? The time machine has alot of possibilities and different scenarios for you to utilize so enjoy.
